"Deer Camp is a state of mind"
About the Project
The film Adirondack Deer Camp looks at the social and historical perspectives of a variety of camps. Beyond that, the film examines the relationships these camps foster between camp members and the Adirondack wilderness.
Produced by Ontrack Productions and the Ndakinna Education Center, this documentary features in-depth interviews that range from sentimental to humorous. Archival photos, vintage home movies and current footage are used to illustrate the deeply personal and familial heritage that these camps are known for. This film is not about the kill; instead it focuses on the culture and the special connection that occurs between deer camp members, their camps and the Adirondacks.
